about glint solar

Our team is growing rapidly, bringing new meaning to the term 'power team'!
At Glint Solar, we are a team of individuals with unique backgrounds and interests. Some of us are passionate about chocolate or coffee, while others love astrophysics or even DJing on the weekends.
But despite our differences, we all share a common passion for what we do. We are a team of problem-solvers who are passionate about making the world a better place. We support each other and love tackling tough challenges. It's not always easy, but it's important work – and we wouldn't have it any other way. We believe in the power of technology to drive positive change in the world. We are a fun-loving team that is united by our passion for what we do.
It's been an exciting year for us as we have welcomed several wonderful new people to our family. We believe that knowing the people behind our company is just as important as understanding our mission. As the faces behind Glint Solar, we want to get to know you and let you get to know us!
Joining us as VP of Sales is Evan, who brings a wealth of experience as a customer-facing leader, with a background in account-based sales, self-service SaaS marketing, and analytics-driven customer success. We can't wait to welcome Evan to the office soon, as he is in the process of relocating with his family from Silicon Valley to Oslo to join us in frosty Norway!
“The main thing that made me want to join Glint Solar was the impact. Solar energy is at the forefront of decarbonizing our planet and one of the biggest challenges we face as an industry is ensuring we can site all these projects effectively. It's really exciting to help developers work more efficiently and ensure more solar plants get built.”
Instead of giving us a regular dad joke, Evan provided us with a solar dad joke:
Q: Why was the solar cell banned from the World Cup?
A: For doping.
It's really no surprise that Evan was the captain of his college's improv comedy team!
Joining us as Senior Business Development Manager is Ailsa, having relocated from London. It didn't take long for her to settle into Norwegian life having taken a cabin trip or Hyttetur and also getting excited about brown cheese and Taco Friday. Ailsa has had a varied career spanning Engineering, VC and an EV Startup which went through an IPO. Not only does she bring a wealth of knowledge from product management, strategy and operations but also a passion for taking challenges head on.
This is what she had to say about why she wanted to join Glint Solar:
“The triple combination of impactful mission, interesting product and great people. Also the fact I am allowed to continually learn is a massive bonus!”
Ailsa’s bucket list is tricky to define because there’s so many things to do and places to visit! However, on the bucket list is to go to Costa Rica to help on a friends regenerative farming project.
Ailsa’s fun fact: “I love hiking in the mountains but am not that great with heights. So I thought I would do a Skydive in New Zealand to help get over this. It has somewhat worked – loved the freefall, hated the parachute.”
Hanna, who put a lid on her childhood aspirations of becoming a politician, turned to sales as her medium of diplomacy. Apart from enjoying how much more effective sales communication is, she also loves turning debates into problem-solving sessions, especially when the size & quality of solar project pipeline is at stake.
This is what she had to say about why she wanted to join Glint Solar:
“Glint Solar’s people and mission – seeing such a passionate group of like-minded people who are tirelessly working on revolutionizing the solar industry strongly echoed with my core beliefs as a human and as a professional.”
If Hanna could meet any historical figure, it would be Elizebeth Smith Friedman, a crypto-analyst who deciphered enemy codes in both World Wars. “She was an exceptional person whose brilliance has often been forgotten in history books but whose work helped to save its course.”
Hanna’s fun fact: “Despite living in Norway for quite some time, I haven’t mastered yet the art of skiing – the only time I tried cross country, I broke my skis on the first turn and had to walk the remaining 3 kilometres, which left me doubtful of my future as a ski aficionado.”
Joni is a Finnish marketer who’s passionate about coffee and outdoor activities. He has a technical marketing background having worked with content, digital marketing, strategies and webinar production.
This is what he had to say about why he wanted to join Glint Solar:
“Glint Solar struck me as a very innovative company with great values, which became apparent already in the first interview. Expectations were met, I can tell you that. Love at first sight!”
To a deserted island Joni would take with him sunscreen, Finnish Licorice and a Swiss army knife. Some of those items might become more handy than others…
”I think I’d last there for about a week or two with those items… Or not haha”
Joni reveals a part of his Finnish identity with his fun fact: “I love peace and quiet, and I love Finnish heavy metal. I know, right, what a self-evident combo.”
Joni works fully remotely, but it does not prevent us from having fun and working as an innovative and productive team! At the moment, we have people in Norway, Finland, UK, Singapore and California (US). Just how we like it!
Magda is a German graduate who just moved to Oslo after completing a semester abroad in Norway. In addition to her academic background in communication, Magda brings valuable experience in the solar industry in Germany, where she’s been responsible for content creation and digital media management in Marketing and HR roles.
Here's what she had to say about why she wanted work at Glint Solar:
“The opportunity to work on meaningful and impactful projects, as well as the potential to grow personally and professionally by learning from a team of smart, fun and passionate people. And quarterly karaoke sessions.”
When asked what fictional place she’d want to visit, she said: “Hogwarts, a 100%! But only if it has solar panels on its roof by then!”
Magda’s fun fact: “I worked as a scare actress at the Halloween Horror Nights in Singapore and made a few people cry. I still feel bad about it. It was a job well done though, because the following year pictures of me were used for their event promotion.”
From sales to marketing to engineering, we have opportunities for a variety of skills and experience levels. We have several open positions that are just waiting for the right person to fill them.
So if you're a fan of finding solutions, and you want to make a positive impact on the world, come join our team and let's make some magic happen!
